Simba SC Analysis: Squad Competition Boosts Performance as Title Ambitions Grow

Simba SC Showing Strong Improvement as Squad Competition Raises Performance Levels

SimuTatu Sports Analysis | By David Mkolwe

Simba SC continue to show clear improvement from match to match, with increased competition within the squad pushing players to elevate their performance. New arrivals such as Inno Loemba, Anicet Oura, Toure, Kibabage, and Libase Gueye have significantly raised the level of competition in the team.

The current Simba side looks very different from the one that suffered a 2-0 defeat to Azam FC, indicating a strong positive shift in both mentality and tactical execution.

TRA United Showed Fight but Missed Key Players

TRA United displayed moments of quality, but the absence of key players such as Chamou and Mzamiru affected their overall effectiveness. Chobwedo stood out, especially in the first half, where he created some dangerous moments, but lacked consistent support from teammates.

Criticism Motivates Kapombe and Kibabage

Interestingly, criticism from fans and club officials directed at Kapombe and Kibabage appears to have had a positive effect. Kapombe’s experience is now evident, and previous concerns about his age have largely disappeared.

Defenders like Mligo and Duchu are now facing increased competition, which is raising the overall defensive standard within the team.

TRA United Show Promise for the Future

Despite the defeat, TRA United put up a strong fight. If they retain their current squad depth, especially on the bench, they could become a very competitive side next season.

Coach Ndairagije is clearly building a team with structure and intent, and there are signs of long-term progress.

Kagoma Named Man of the Match

While not the most technically flashy player, Kagoma delivered an outstanding performance in terms of work rate and discipline.

He dominated the midfield battle, made crucial interceptions, improved his passing, and avoided unnecessary fouls. His goal was simply the finishing touch — the "icing on the cake" of an already impressive display.

He is, without doubt, the deserved Man of the Match (MOTM).

Simba’s Title Ambitions Growing

If Simba maintain their current momentum, their title ambitions will become increasingly clear. What makes their performance more impressive is the absence of key players such as Nangu, Hamza, Yakoub, Sowah, and Loemba in recent matches.

Midfielder Sele Gomez is encouraged to become more involved in key moments throughout matches. Football is a game of moments, and consistent involvement in decisive actions often defines a player’s overall performance.

Players like Libase Gueye and Oura, along with experienced figures such as Kibabage and Kapombe, provide a strong example of consistency and impact.
